Ejected Drunk Admits Ramming Casino Doors

11 August 2003

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Sydney Morning Herald: ``When a drunken Adam Turko was thrown out of Sydney's Star City casino, he refused to go quietly.

``After twice trying to get back inside and being physically removed from the property, he returned with his car and rammed it through the casino's front doors.

``…A police statement tendered to the court said Turko, a 38-year-old father of four, had been ejected from the casino about 1.15am (AEST) because he was drunk.

``…According to the statement, Turko drove his car down the front entry ramp of the casino and accelerated through its plate glass doors, spraying the entrance with broken glass.

``He then reversed and accelerated through another set of doors, causing $20,000 damage.

``Police said the casino was very busy at the time and there were lots of patrons milling near the entrance.

``…After driving off from the casino, Turko led police on a chase through the inner-city suburbs of Pyrmont, Ultimo and Glebe…”
