Echelon Resorts Adds to Team

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) today announced two key executive appointments for its Echelon Place development. Echelon Resorts has named John Lin its Vice President of Development and Michael Mathis its Vice President and General Counsel. Echelon Resorts is the subsidiary of Boyd Gaming that will develop and operate Echelon Place.

Commenting on the appointments, Bob Boughner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Echelon Resorts and a Boyd Gaming board member, said, "John Lin has played a key role in establishing our master plan and developing our strategic partnerships. He will be actively involved in all facets of our auspicious development project. Mike Mathis' experience in the development, construction, and operation of a high-end, multi-faceted Las Vegas resort is a great complement to our Echelon team."

John Lin was previously Executive Director pursuing international development for a major casino entertainment company, where he pursued gaming development opportunities in Macau, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. Lin has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Before joining Echelon, Michael Mathis served as corporate counsel for a major casino entertainment company for the last seven years. Mathis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.
