EBet Lays Odds it's on a Winner

18 January 2001

AUSTRALIA-- Jan.18, 2001 -- As reported by the Australian: "EBet yesterday reported consolidated operating revenue of $2.5 million for the six months to December 31 – around $300,000 more than the result for the entire 1999-2000 year and a 307 per cent increase on the previous corresponding period.

"EBet managing director Keith Cullen said the company expected the strong upward trend in sales to continue through the opening of new markets and its acquisition strategy.

"This was despite last month's sale of EBet's internet casino subsidiary and casino website after the imposition of the federal Government's internet gambling moratorium.

"Mr Cullen said EBet, which booked a $10.78 million net loss in 1999-2000, would still be in the red this year.

"...He said EBet was disappointed it had to sell its internet gaming operation but the moratorium did not affect EBet's core online business of sports and race betting.

"...On a pro-forma basis, including the recently acquired City Index, EBet's first-half consolidated operating revenue was around $3.06 million..."
