Eastwood, Scorsese Lead Oscar Bets

LOS ANGELES, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- This year, the Best Director category is far and away the most popular Oscar race. The battle between Clint Eastwood and Martin Scorsese is tight with current odds at 1-1 and 5-7 respectively. The remaining nominees aren't anywhere close at 50-1.

"Wagering on the Academy Awards has become as popular in the US as betting on major sporting events," said Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director, Sportsbook.com. "When it comes to novelty bets, the Oscars are a close second to the popular US Presidential race."

In the Best Actor category, Jamie Foxx is the overwhelming favorite with 1-18 odds. Leonardo DiCaprio is next at 8-1, followed by Eastwood at 15-1.

"We know that there's always an upset and it will be interesting to see what surprises this year will bring," added Czajkowski, "Some of our players are going to win on a long-shot here".
