East Coast Gaming Congress Honors Satre, Rubeli

4 May 2005

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – (PRESS RELEASE) -- For the first time in its nine-
year history, the East Coast Gaming Congress will present lifetime achievement
awards to two legendary industry leaders: former Harrah's Entertainment
Chairman and CEO Philip G. Satre, and former Aztar Chairman and CEO Paul E.
Rubeli.

The conference will be held here May 26 at Historic Boardwalk Hall.

Rubeli and Satre announced their respective retirements in late 2004 after
distinguished careers in the casino industry.

"These men played instrumental roles in the development of Atlantic City,
and demonstrated that casino gaming is mainstream entertainment, led by people
of integrity and vision," said attorney Lloyd D. Levenson of Cooper Levenson,
a conference organizer.

"Paul and Phil represent a rare breed of leadership, and thus deserve this
rare honor," said Michael Pollock of Spectrum Gaming Group, a conference
organizer.

"Atlantic City has been extremely important to Aztar since the company's
inception, and it was the focus of much of my attention for 25 years. I hope
we have made a positive contribution to the city's success. I am doubly
honored to be one of the first to receive this award," Rubeli said.

Satre said: "I am deeply honored by this recognition. Success in Atlantic
City has been a hallmark for Harrah's and likewise for me -- it gave us new
frontiers, a chance to prove ourselves in a formidably new market, and it has
been a richly rewarding experience for both Harrah's Entertainment and for
me."

Satre's award will be presented by his successor, Gary Loveman, chairman,
president and CEO of Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., while Rubeli's award will
be presented by his successor, Robert Haddock, president and CEO of Aztar
Corp. Loveman and Haddock will also participate in the Industry Leaders
Forum, moderated by Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr., president and CEO of the American
Gaming Association.

The conference features panels of leading Wall Street analysts, Indian
gaming executives, state lawmakers and others from Pennsylvania to Florida,
New Jersey, New York and other gaming states.

The conference and Richard Stockton College offer an "Executive
Development Day" on May 25 at the Carnegie Library Center here for gaming
executives at all levels. Registration for the executive development sessions
is limited to 80 attendees who also register for the East Coast Gaming
Congress.
