Dutch Lotto Scam Hits Emails24 March 2003NEW ZEALAND – As reported by the New Zealand Herald: "First there were the Nigerian scams, now comes the Dutch lotto scam. "Spam victims have been receiving congratulatory emails from a Netherlands company, Sprint Securities, advising them of their good fortune in winning a US$6.5 million lottery prize. "…But - surprise, surprise - a reply to the email yields a request for $7900 `to cover payment of opening of account, handling, transfer, insurance and mailing costs and charges'…" |
