Downs Boosts Mohegan Revenues

CONNECTICUT – As reported by the Pennsylvania Times-Leader: "Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs added $10.3 million to the revenues of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority in the second quarter of 2005.

"Overall, the authority recorded net revenues of $343 million for the April to June period, an increase of nearly 10 percent from the same period a year earlier.

"The figures come from the authority's fiscal 2005 third quarter results, released Thursday.

"Business at the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut rebounded from a soft first quarter, which authority officials blamed on a stretch of bad weather.

"…'Downs racing has always been profitable. I think they're having a good racing season,' said Bill Velardo, the authority's chief executive…"
