Dover Downs' Crown Royal Poker Room hosts Getaway Weekend; Masters Poker Series21 September 2015(PRESS RELEASE) -- A host of tournament and cash-game action, along with special celebrity appearances, are among the October highlights in the Crown Royal Poker Room at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. The Poker Room’s next Getaway Weekend will be held from Oct. 9-11, with three tournaments serving as the centerpiece of the event. The tournaments include: · $115 buy-in, Friday, Oct. 9, $10,000 guaranteed in prize pool. · $225 buy-in., Saturday, Oct. 10, $25,000 guaranteed in prize pool. · $50 buy-in, Sunday, Oct. 11, $3,500 guaranteed in prize pool. October also features the return of the Masters Poker Series, with celebrity appearances, and tournaments from Oct. 28-Nov. 1. The Masters Poker Series tournaments will have a total of $150,000 in guarantees and five Ante Up poker cruises will be given away throughout the weekend. Players will have the opportunity to compete and learn from several legends of the game, including a former world champion and one of the top female players in the world. Celebrity professional players scheduled to appear during the Masters Series include: · Tom McEvoy, 1983 World Series of Poker Main Event champion and winner of four total WSOP bracelets. · T.J. Cloutier, winner of six WSOP bracelets and two-time WSOP Main Event second-place finisher. · Kenna James, two WSOP final table appearances and more than $3.5 million in tournament winnings. · J.J. Liu, two World Poker Tour final tables and more than $2 million in tournament winnings. · Darvin Moon, finished second in 2009 WSOP Main Event, earning $5.18 million. In addition, throughout October, every professional football game will be available for viewing on Sundays, as well as Thursday and Monday nights in the Crown Royal Poker Room.
