Dot Com Announces License Agreement for Internet Gaming Software3 January 2001OAKVILLE, Ontario--(Press Release)--Jan. 3, 2001--dot com Entertainment Group, Inc. (OTCBB:DCEG), through its wholly-owned subsidiary corporation, dot com (Antigua) Ltd., announced today that it has entered into a license agreement with Altadena Investments Ltd. of Cyprus to deliver and install a complete Internet Bingo and Internet Casino system for use by Altadena. dot com is a fully-reporting, SEC registered company, which is focused on the development, delivery and support of Internet entertainment software systems, such as on-line Bingo, on-line Casino and other related products and services. Altadena currently operates a successful Internet Casino, with an active player-base. It is the company's intention to convert its current Internet Casino operations to dot com technology, while at the same time establishing an on-line Bingo presence using dot com's Internet Bingo technology. ``We expect to generate cash-flow in this quarter from Altadena's Internet Casino operations while also realizing revenue from their Internet Bingo operations,'' said Scott F. White, dot com's President & CEO. ``This license agreement marks the completion of the first of five (5) preliminary agreements which we signed in Q4 2000, governing the license of our Internet Casino and Bingo technology. We expect to convert these preliminary agreements into license agreements prior to the end of January 2001. "In addition to these agreements, we are in active negotiations and discussions with a number of potential licensees in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and other countries, including some of the largest names in the gaming industry.'' This license agreement with Altadena contemplates the delivery and installation of dot com's Bingo and Casino technology at Altadena's Internet hosting facilities in Costa Rica. As part of this agreement, Altadena is obligated to pay to dot com upfront installation fees along with an ongoing royalty interest. dot com's business strategy is to take advantage of its first mover status in Internet Bingo technology development to help grow the e-Bingo category and move part of the estimated $70 billion spent in land-based Bingo halls to the web. The company presently licenses its Internet Bingo technology to a majority of the pay-for-play multi-play Internet Bingo Halls. If just 1% of land-based Bingo play moves to the web, this micro category of e-gaming will be a $700,000,000 area of e-commerce. dot com is working to revolutionize the way Bingo is played on the Internet - for money, for free and in the charity sectors. It is also now actively promoting the license of its Internet Casino technology, which has been extremely well received by prospective licensees who have previewed the software over the past few months. The recent failure of United States legislation to ban Internet Gaming, could signal a move toward regulation of Internet gaming in the United States. Over the past few months, major gaming companies in Las Vegas, such as MGM and Harrah's have announced their intention to launch free-play gaming sites, with others to follow in 2001. dot com supports the regulation of this sector of e-commerce and with more than 50 jurisdictions now regulating Internet gaming, the company expects to continue its pattern of growth and profitability in 2001 and beyond. |
