Don't Miss the Bus to Reno9 April 1998RENO, Nev. -- Greyhound Lines, Inc. (Amex: BUS) has expanded its growing casino business once again with new service from Northern California to the Flamingo Hilton in Reno. Fourteen schedules on Saturdays and Sundays and eight schedules each week day will take casino visitors from Sacramento, Oakland and San Francisco to the door of the Flamingo Hilton. As a bonus, Greyhound passengers will receive $10 in cash and a $5 food coupon from the casino. "Casino visitors who travel with Greyhound will not only receive the special discounts and offers the Flamingo provides, but they will also benefit from an open-ended ticket that allows them to return home at any time within seven days of their arrival," said Mike Abercrombie, manager of special services for Greyhound. Casino service by Greyhound has grown in recent years in Reno, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and other markets. Casino-related traffic on the West Coast to Reno and Las Vegas has increased 21 percent over last year. Nationally, Greyhound carried more than one million passengers to casinos last year, up 17 percent from the year before. Greyhound is the only nationwide provider of intercity bus transportation, serving more than 2,600 destinations with 18,000 daily departures.
