Docked Casino Ship Detains Passengers

PORT CANAVERAL, Florida – As reported by the Naples Daily News: "Sheriff's and Coast Guard officials are investigating why passengers aboard a cruise ship were not allowed to leave the vessel when it returned to port after a passenger became ill.

"Several passengers aboard a Sterling Casino Lines ship wanted to leave when the boat returned to port about midway through a scheduled six-hour voyage Saturday night, but cruise employees refused to let them exit, said Ed Rome, one of the passengers.

"…Rome said passengers were never told why the boat returned to international waters after dropping the ill passenger off at the port. Most passengers just sat and waited for the trip to end, he said…"
