Division of Gaming Enforcement Seeks $198K. for Minor Gambling at Trump Marina16 April 2003ATLANTIC CITY – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: ``A member of the Casino Control Commission has preliminarily ruled that Trump Marina should pay $60,000 for allowing a minor to repeatedly gamble. ``The Division of Gaming Enforcement 'strongly objects,' saying a $1.2 million fine is justified - but it's willing to accept a record $198,700 instead. ```Such a fine would constitute a clear statement that the commission's hitherto unblemished record of treating underage gambling in a manner commensurate with the serious social problem that it is remains intact,' Deputy Attorney General Timothy Ficchi of the DGE said Monday in a letter to commission Chair Linda Kassekert. ``After hearing daylong arguments in December, Commissioner Michael Epps decided last month that Trump Marina should pay $35,000 for allowing a mature-looking 19-year-old man identified as "MP" to gamble 61 times on 18 days over 10 months…" |
