Detroit Woman Takes Lump Sum20 June 2001LANSING, Michigan – June 20, 2001 -- As reported by the Associated Press: ``The first jackpot winner of the Michigan Lottery's newest game has selected a lump sum payment of $19.85 million. ``The 33-year-old Detroit woman, who requested that her name not be released, is the first Michigan Millions jackpot winner. Her ticket for the drawing last Saturday, purchased at Devonshire Drug in Detroit, matched all six numbers for the $40 million jackpot. ``…`A friend of mine told me that the Michigan Millions jackpot-winning ticket was sold at Devonshire Drug,' the winner said in a written Michigan Lottery release. `I always buy my Michigan Lottery tickets at that store, so I immediately checked my ticket from Saturday's drawing. ```I couldn't believe my eyes. ...
