Detroit Casinos Set Record Monthly Revenues15 April 2003DETROIT, Michigan – As reported by the Associated Press: "Detroit's casinos have brought in more than $100 million in monthly revenue for only the second time in their existence. "Combined March revenues for the city's three casinos were up one percent to $103.8 million, breaking the previous $102.4 million record set last March, The Detroit News reported in a Tuesday story. "Led by growth at Greektown Casino, the results also broke a five-month streak of wagering declines in the city. "…Greektown Casino saw the largest March increase as revenues climbed 6 percent to $31.2 million -- the first time Detroit's youngest casino topped $30 million in monthly revenues -- while market share remained at 30 percent. "Meanwhile, revenues at MotorCity and MGM Grand Detroit casinos each dipped 1 percent from last year to $37.1 million and $35.6 million, respectively. "But it was MotorCity's second-best month ever for revenues and the fourth-strongest month for MGM Grand Detroit…" |
