Detroit Casinos Revenues Jump in November18 December 2001DETROIT, Michigan – Dec. 18, 2001 –As reported by the Associated Press: "Revenues at the city's casinos last month increased from the same period a year ago, according to a report Monday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board. "The total adjusted gross revenues for the three casinos was about $91.3 million last month, up from about $69.2 million in November 2000, when Greektown Casino opened. "MGM Grand Detroit Casino brought in the most money last month, maintaining a lead it has held continuously since September. The casino made about $32.6 million, a 14 percent increase over September 2000, when it took in $28.6 million. "MotorCity Casino wasn't far behind with $31.5 million -- up 18 percent from $26.7 million last year. "Greektown Casino took in $27.2 million last month. Gamblers there spent $13.6 million in November 2000 after the casino opened Nov. 10. "…Through November, combined year-to-date casino revenues were about $912.5 million. Last year, with Greektown only open 21 days, the combined take through November was about $643.2 million. "…Revenues at the three casinos have continued to increase. October was the first month combined revenues exceed $90 million, with the three casinos reporting combined revenues of $93 million…" |
