Delta Blues Site Still Lifeless26 July 2006GREENVILLE, Mississippi -- As reported by the Delta Democrat Times: "More than two and a half months after a ceremonial groundbreaking, the Delta Blues Casino still has not begun construction on any of its properties. "Before work can begin on the casino site, representatives must apply for site approval from the state Gaming Commission. Approval was granted in 2003, but the two-year permit expired in October 2005. "Larry Gregory, executive director of the Gaming Commission, said today that Delta Blues has not applied for approval since then. "...Delta Blues has shown no sign of activity at its property, the former Chicago Mill site off South Walnut Street. Grass that had been mown for the groundbreaking has grown back..." |
