Del Lago Resort raises nearly $2,000 for Thrive to Survive

5 April 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- From the very start, del Lago Resort & Casino has had a focused mission to strengthen the community by supporting local nonprofit organizations and businesses. Each month, del Lago Resort & Casino hosts Savor del Lago (formerly Tasting Tuesdays), an event featuring wine, beer and cider samplings from local Finger Lakes wineries, breweries and cideries. Proceeds from the event support a different local charity each month. As the beneficiary of the March Savor del Lago, Thrive to Survive was presented with a $1,731 check from the resort and casino.

Thrive to Survive is dedicated to providing support in a variety of ways to adults living in Geneva, Waterloo, Seneca Falls, Stanley, Clifton Springs, Phelps, Dundee, Keuka Park and Penn Yan, New York, who are being treated for cancer. Through this support, Thrive to Survive hopes to relieve unnecessary stress on the patient, allowing them to focus on their recovery and their families. The ultimate goal of Thrive to Survive is to be able to support adults with cancer emotionally and financially.

Del Lago launched this monthly event in June 2017 and has raised more than $17,000 for numerous local charities, including the Seneca County House of Concern, Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Calvary Food Pantry, United Way of Seneca County and the American Heart Association of Rochester.

Upcoming April Savor del Lago
From 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, 7 April, in honor of National Beer Day, a special Savor del Lago will feature an array of Finger Lakes breweries offering tastings and products for guests to purchase. There will be $20,000 in giveaways throughout the event to celebrate National Beer Day. Prizes include cash and a private brewery tour of the Budweiser plant in Baldwinsville, New York. The event is free to Massimo and Elite players, $5 for Premier and Signature players, and $10 for players not participating in del Lago's reward-card program.

Proceeds from the 7 April Savor del Lago event will support Fetch a Friend in Seneca Falls, a volunteer-staffed, community supported, non-breed-specific dog rescue. Fetch a Friend provides emotional and physical care to dogs in need while searching to find them loving forever homes. Puppies will be on-site along with photos of dogs looking to be adopted.
