Daring Escape from Australian Casino Inferno9 December 2001DARWIN, Australia – Dec. 9, 2001 – As reported by the Australian Associated Press: ``Guests of Darwin's hotel and casino used sheets to escape from second floor windows after a fire broke out. ``Ten guests and staff were treated for smoke inhalation but no-one was seriously injured, an MGM Grand spokesman said. ``A total of 154 guests were evacuated, he said. ``…A fire alarm was activated at 5.25am by the fire which was believed to have started in a ground-floor storage area, he said. ``Fire service forensic officers were investigating the cause…" |
