Dairyland Greyhound Park reports loss8 April 2008WISCONSIN -- As reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "Dairyland Greyhound Park, the state's lone pari-mutuel racetrack, lost $2.82 million in 2007, according to an audit released Monday. "The loss continues a string of multimillion-dollar losses at the Kenosha track. In 2006, the track reported that it lost $2.84 million; in 2005, it reported a loss of $2.41 million. "Auditors hired by Dairyland wrote in the audit that track operators had negotiated financing extensions to 'best address the potential operational cash needs of the next operating cycle and mitigate, to the greatest extent possible, questions regarding the ability of the company to operate as a going concern.' "...The Menominee tribe has an option to buy the track for $40.5 million. The tribe is partners with the Mohegan tribe in Connecticut to build a casino-convention center at the track..." |
