Crown Casino Earnings Up30 September 2003AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Sydney Morning Herald: "Kerry Packer may have hedged his bets as one of the world's biggest gamblers by hoovering up Melbourne's Crown casino but that hasn't removed the need to lift the skirt on his den of iniquity. "Crown's annual report tells us Lloyd Williams's love-child enjoyed a 10 per cent increase in its bottom line in 2003 to $156.7 million (US$106.5 million), drilling down from PBL's recent disclosure that shyly stopped at top line earnings of $330.9 million (US$225 million). "The money machine had $107.4 million (US$ 77 million) in cash at balance date, about twice what it had a year ago. That should help with any $550 million tilt at Burswood, the Packers having put their foot on 14 per cent of the Perth gambling house yesterday…" |
