Crime Family Leader Banned from Atlantic City Casinos

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "An alleged captain in the Genovese crime family of New York can no longer set foot inside any casino hotel here, the Casino Control Commission ruled Thursday.

"Commissioners voted 3-0 to temporarily place John Gregory Ardito on the Exclusion List.

"…Ardito, 82, has an extensive criminal record of more than 60 years, the Division of Gaming Enforcement said.

"Among other things, he has pled guilty or been convicted of assault, conspiracy to influence and obstruct a jury trial, and conspiracy under federal racketeering laws.

"Federal authorities list him as a capo, or captain, in the Genovese family of La Cosa Nostra.

"Ardito has also been an active gambler here since at least 1995, according to casino records studied by the DGE…"
