County Committee Recommends Casino at Former Dog Track21 September 2000KAUKAUNA, WISCONSIN – Sept. 21, 2000 – As reported by The Associated Press: "An Outagamie County Board committee has endorsed a tribe's plan to build a $55 million casino, hotel and water park at a defunct greyhound racing track. "The county board's finance committee voted 5-0 Wednesday to recommend Outagamie County enter into a contract with the Lac du Flambeau band of Lake Superior Chippewa for the casino. "But that approval is contingent on the tribe partially waiving its sovereign rights on the 15-acre parcel where the casino would sit.
