Controversial slot stays plugged8 March 2007MISSOURI – As reported by the Kansas City Star: "Missouri officials say they will not shut down a controversial slot machine that briefly flashes winning jackpot symbols at the outset of every spin. "Casino regulators in Ontario, Canada, last month pulled the plug on 87 Konami Gaming slots after a report on Canadian CBC News about the alleged "subliminal" images that appeared for an estimated one-fifth of a second. "Todd Nelson, gaming device coordinator for the Missouri Gaming Commission, said one Konami slot with one of four suspected subliminal game titles, 'Billionaires,' was found in play in Missouri, at Isle of Capri in Boonville. "Missouri's independent slot-testing lab, New Jersey-based Gaming Laboratories International, examined the games in Canada and determined that the 'invisible graphical glitches' had no bearing on play, adding that it was 'skeptical' of any subliminal effects on players…"
