Conneticut Slot Revenues Up in January16 February 2001CONNETICUT – Feb. 16, 2001 –As reported by the The Conneticut Day: "Foxwoods Resort Casino posted its best-ever slot machine numbers for January, winning $59 million, or $1.3 million more than the same month the year before. "`We're pleased,' said William J. Sherlock, president and chief executive officer of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe's casino. `Not only did we beat last January, we did it in spite of inclement weather on the Martin Luther King holiday weekend, which is a major weekend for us.' "…At Mohegan Sun, the monthly win in January was $39.7 million, up $774,589 from January 2000. "…The combined handle at the two casinos — the total amount of money fed through the machines — was $1.2 billion in the 31 days in January. "…Historically, February is a good month at Connecticut's two casinos. "Next week, during the Presidents Day holidays, the casinos are usually hopping…" |
