Connecticut Update13 July 1997RGT Online decided to check in to see what was up with an internet prohibition gambling bill which was introduced in the State of Connecticut earlier this year. It would appear that the answer is to the question is "not much." A visit to the Conn. Website showed the text of the bill but the last update was June 2. And although it was referred to the Committee on Public Safety in May, apparently been little subsequent action. Interestingly enough, the web site lists the sponsor of the bill is, you guessed it, the Attorney General. Funny how the legislative and judicial branches of the government in Connecticut seem to have melded. Our reading of the bill shows that, like the Kyl bill on the federal level, the Connecticut bill does indeed, target "casual bettors" or YOU as the consumer. |
