Connecticut Slots Revenue Up

CONNECTICUT – As reported by Connecticut Now: "More than $1.6 billion was wagered on slot machines in September as gamblers continued to flock to Connecticut's two Indian casinos.

"Overall profits from the nearly 13,000 slot machines at the two casinos also increased over last year. Foxwoods Resort and Mohegan Sun casinos reported combined slot revenues of $127 million, an increase of about 4 percent over September 2001.

"However, at Foxwoods the total win, which is the amount won in slot machines, and the handle, which includes all the money bet on machines, were down slightly from last year. Mohegan Sun's numbers were up significantly, driven by a $1 billion expansion that added hotel rooms, restaurants and more gambling…"
