Connecticut Lottery, MDI Unveil Betty Boop Bingo21 August 2002HARTFORD, Connecticut --(Press Release)--Aug. 21, 2002--The world's first Betty Boop Bingo lottery game will be unveiled by The Connecticut Lottery, MDI Entertainment, Inc. (OTC BB: LTRY) announced today. MDI, a global leader in licensed lottery games and promotions, created the Betty Boop Bingo game for its world-wide lottery customers. The game is scheduled to launch in Connecticut in September. Betty is one of the few female cartoon characters recognized the world over. "Bingo theme games are among the most popular Instant lottery games," said Steven Saferin, President and CEO of MDI. "They are easy, familiar to millions and offer an extended play experience. That all adds up to fun. But Betty Boop brings a whole new level of appeal to male and female lottery consumers." Mr. Saferin also noted that there are hundreds of collectible and nostalgic merchandise prizes available under the Betty Boop brand. These can be added to the cash prize mix or used in a "second chance" bonus promotion. Lottery game themes and ticket designs make prominent use of MDI's widely recognized brands, cultural icons and celebrities through MDI's exclusive brands licensing programs. In addition to cash prizes, official logo and nostalgic merchandise and memorabilia are selected by the lotteries for prize packages. Instant winners, and second chance winners from bonus drawings, can land the additional prizes with non-winning tickets and special entries, all adding extra value to the lottery tickets. MDI lottery brand licenses and turnkey promotions provide lotteries with most of the labor intensive tasks that accompany large-scale merchandise prize management and fulfillment, and secure random drawings. MDI's services also include game and ticket design, merchandise prize fulfillment, management of second-and third-chance draws, fully-staffed customer service, coordination of winner travel & accommodations, staff training, advertising and marketing support, consumer research and Internet marketing and advertising. |
