Connecticut Bill Keeps Minors of Casino Floors20 June 2003CONNECTICUT – As reported by the Connecticut Day: “Gov. John G. Rowland signed into law Wednesday new penalties for teenagers and underage adults who try to gamble at southeastern Connecticut's two casinos. “The rules, which the legislature approved in its session this spring, will prohibit anyone under age 21 from stepping on the gaming floors at Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun. An exception is included for authorized casino employees. “Minors caught on the casino floor can be fined as much as $100. Those who are caught placing bets on games can be charged with misdemeanors, and any minor who attempts to use fake identification to gamble or drink at a casino will face a fine of $100 to $500 and up to 30 days in jail. “…The measure passed in the House of Representatives and the Senate on unanimous votes this spring after it was attached to another bill setting tougher criminal penalties for voyeurism. “Both casinos post security staff at the entrances to their gaming areas to look for underage gamblers.
