Circuit Courts' Rulings Stand on MGAM's MegaMania Game

29 January 2001

AUSTIN, Texas -- (Press Release) -- Jan. 29, 2001 -- Multimedia Games Inc. (Nasdaq:MGAM) announced today that the Department of Justice has confirmed it will not seek review by the United States Supreme Court of the rulings made by the Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals, which determined MegaMania to be a lawful Class II bingo game.

The ruling issued by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in California has become final, and all deadlines for appeal have previously passed.

The final deadline for the Department of Justice to seek further review of the Tenth Circuit opinion would have been today, Jan. 29, 2001. MegaMania® is an electronically linked bingo game played on Native American lands in several states across the country.

Gordon T. Graves, MGAM CEO, said, ``I am very pleased that the Department of Justice accepts the previous court rulings as final, and am glad to have these rulings available. They not only support the continued play of MegaMania® as a Class II game, but also lend support and guidance for other games which MGAM has in operation, and new games which are currently in development.''
