Chinese Officials Destroy Gambling Machines27 September 2002BEIJING – As reported by Xinhuanet: "Local police used bulldozers on Thursday to destroy over 2,000 electronic gambling machines valued at more than four million yuan (US$ 481,000), which had been confiscated from local video game parlors. "Since the beginning of this year, police has searched 269 videogame parlors which has installed gambling machines in violation of law and had confiscated their gambling machines and funds, closing down 79 unlicensed ones.
