Children's Choice and MGM Grand to Build Child Development Center in Las Vegas8 January 2001DALLAS, Texas -- (Press Release) -- Jan. 8, 2001 -- Children's Choice Learning Centers, Inc. and Las Vegas' MGM Grand Hotel and Casino today announced an agreement to develop an on-site child development center for MGM Grand's 8,000 ``cast members'' (employees). Construction of the $4 million, 21,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to be completed in August 2001. The child care facility will have a licensing capacity of 330 children per shift. Children's Choice Learning Centers offers 24-hour, 365-day developmentally appropriate educational programs for children six weeks to 12 years of age, including sick care (Sniffles & Snuggles®), back-up care, summer camp and holiday care during school calendar breaks. Sniffles & Snuggles® is a special get-well center for children who are mildly ill, administered under a registered nurse or nurse's aide and is licensed for up to 14 children at one time. The Center and its services will be available to cast members of MGM Grand and employees of New York-New York Hotel and Casino. ``MGM Grand recognizes and is responding to our cast members' needs for child care to help balance their non-traditional work schedules and family life,'' said Cynthia Kiser Murphey, senior vice president of human resources for MGM MIRAGE(TM).`` ``Our partnership with MGM Grand continues the Children's Choice commitment to provide high quality `Child Care That Is Always There®,' along with our commitment to raising the bar of quality child care in Las Vegas.
