Chester House Wins the Million19 August 2000ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, ILLINOIS – Aug. 19, 2000 –As reported by The Associated Press: "Chester House won the Arlington Million on Saturday, squeezing through a small opening at the top of the stretch and moving past the small but congested field. "The 5-year-old son of Mr. Prospector captured the 18th running of the lucrative race by 3 1/4 lengths, giving jockey Jerry Bailey his second big victory of the day and ending trainer Robert Frankel's 0-12 winless streak in the Million. "…His winner's share of the $2 million purse was $1.2 million. "…Chester House, out of Juddmonte Farms, had been winless in his five previous starts this season but was the runner-up in the Grade 1 Eddie Read Handicap at Del Mar in his last time out July 30. "Manndar, the early favorite, had won his previous two races. "`We got beat by a good horse today,' trainer Beau Greely said. 1We didn't have an ideal trip. It was a tough race.
