Cherry iGaming granted U.K. gaming license

11 November 2016

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Cherry iGaming's subsidiary, PlayCherry Ltd, has been granted a local U.K. license for gaming operators from the U.K. Gambling Commission, which means it can engage the entire U.K. market with its cutting-edge propositions. The license covers both Casino and Sports Betting.

Cherry's iGaming business area continues its growth aspirations by opening in new markets, including this license to operate in the U.K.

Cherry iGaming will be focusing on opportunities with some of its brands, initially utilizing the license for flagship brand Cherry Casino as well as the recently re-launched white label EuroSlots. Highly successful brand Sunmaker will then be pushed within the U.K.

Cherry iGaming already holds gaming licenses in Malta, Curacao and Schleswig-Holstein. Cherry estimates that the proportion of profits from locally deregulated markets will increase in the years to come.

Jonas Wåhlander, CEO at Cherry iGaming, said: "This is an additional step in the evolution of Cherry iGaming. Through a wide offering we will have a brand for every key customer segment in the U.K. market, encompassing all types of products to engage with them. With the current presence and insight we have, combined with ComeOn's experience, we expect a positive entry into the market and are excited about the potential of this very important market."
