Cheaters Use Variety of Tools to Get into Slot Machines18 July 2003BILOXI -- As reported by the Sun Herald: ``The tools that Rich Randall showed the Edgewater Rotary Club today were crude: pieces of bent wire, tokens with short lengths of fishing line running through them, discs of lead. But they've been successfully used to cheat casino slot machines. ``Randall, a native of Gulfport and former Harrison County sheriff's deputy, said slot machines are the most vulnerable part of a casino to cheaters. ``...In the early days of legalized gambling in Mississippi, coins with string running through them were the main cheating device. After the coins were dropped in the machine, the cheater would yank the line, causing the machine to register a credit while the gambler kept his money..." |
