Chartwell Signs Two New Licensees and Beta Tests Bingo Site

19 January 2000

Chartwell Technology Inc. (CWH.V) said its wholly owned subsidiary, GamingTech Corp., has signed agreements to license its Internet-based gaming software, CasinoCasino, to Paradox Investments Ltd. and Virtual Data Ltd.

A Chartwell spokesman declined to provide details about Paradox and Virtual. He said they will operate new casino sites that will be up in a month or two.

GamingTech, which is based in Belize, has now licensed 15 casino sites for its Java-based software, which the company released in January 1999.

A Java-based multi-player, multi-card bingo game with live chat is in beta tests. Chartwell said it should be available for free play on the company's Web site (www.chartwelltechnology.com) within two weeks.

The game, called BingoBingo, will eventually have four varieties of bingo: the conventional game, with 75 numbers where any line wins; Scatter Bingo, with a computer-generated random pattern that's required to win; Blackout Bingo, in which the player most cover all squares; and Speedball Bingo, where the balls come out much faster and auto daubing is not allowed.

BingoBingo will be licensed separately but it can also be included in the CasinoCasino set of games.

Chartwell, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, creates software for both wagering and non-wagering gaming sites. The company is traded on the Canadian Ventures Exchange under the symbol CWH.V.
