Casino Rouge Offers Casually Elegant Fine Dining24 October 2005BATON ROUGE, Louisiana -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Casino Rouge, the area's number one casino, today announced the opening of The Steakhouse at Casino Rouge. Formerly Capitol Bistro, this fine-dining restaurant features the finest cuts of 100 percent-certified Angus Beef, along with premium Pork, Veal, Chicken, and Seafood dishes complemented by a well-rounded wine list. The new menu was designed by Casino Rouge's senior culinary staff, Executive Chef Eric Brandt and Executive Sous Chef Kerry Whitaker. Brandt, trained at the Culinary Institute of America, is a member of the Brandt family of restaurateurs. Whitaker oversees the restaurant's kitchen where he showcases his more than 18 years of culinary expertise. With new china, flatware, linens, artwork, and seating for more than 90 guests, The Steakhouse at Casino Rouge offers beautiful views of the Mississippi river in a casually elegant atmosphere. The restaurant joins the casino's other eating establishments including the International Marketplace Buffet, Docker's Grill, and the Snack Shop. "We pride ourselves on great food in addition to our great gaming experience," said Dan Richardson, Director of Food, Beverage and Retail at Casino Rouge. "We serve up to 40,000 people each month, so we know what our guests like to eat. Our restaurant is a great addition to our property as well as to Baton Rouge's downtown eating establishments." Entrees & Seafood Entrees are priced from $19.99 to $34.99 and include the Signature Cowboy Steak, which is a 22-ounce bone-in Ribeye seasoned and flame broiled to perfection. The Roasted Rosemary & Dijon Crusted Lamb Chops are sliced and served with a rich Garlic Dijonnaise. Also, the Grilled Swordfish Steak is a 12-ounce center cut of Atlantic Swordfish served with refreshing Melon Salsa. Appetizers & Sides Appetizers and sides are priced from $3.99 to $9.99 and include Louisiana Crab Cakes, which has a tantalizing blend of Roasted Corn, Herbs, and Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, served on a bed of Shrimp Salsa with Remoulade Sauce. Steakhouse Baked Onion Soup is an onion shell filled with a medley of five onions and Cabernet Sauvignon, topped with Baby Smoked Gouda then baked golden brown. Some of the restaurant's sides include Char Grilled Asparagus, Cream Spinach, and Cabernet Mushrooms.
