Casino Helps Holiday Charities2 December 2002CANADA -- As reported by the Edmonton Sun: ``They bet, they bluffed and they showed. ``And in the end, gamblers and strippers raised plenty of cash this weekend to make a better Christmas for needy kids. ``Forty-two card sharks raised about $2,500 in cash and $2,000 in toys at Baccarat Casino's Santa's Helpers Poker Tournament yesterday. The casino will match the donations to Santas Anonymous, which makes sure needy kids get a Christmas gift, said marketing and public relations co-ordinator Cindy Wong. ``…A cardboard box five feet long and three feet wide was overflowing with board games, stuffed animals, dolls and toy trucks, said Wong. ```Our casino is very family oriented,' she said. `A lot of our staff have children and they want to see kids with Christmas presents.'…" |
