Casino gamblers help Stanley hit jackpot13 July 2000LONDON – July 13, 2000 – As reported by ABC: "Betting and casinos group Stanley Leisure says profits have jumped 21%, helped by booming trade at its chain of casinos. "Pre-tax profits leapt from £23.5 million to #28.5 million for the year to April 30, on turnover of #502 million. "The figures were boosted by the acquisition of casino company Capital Corporation for £86 million and a sterling performance from its gaming division, which saw turnover increase by 131% on the year to #118 million. "…The company says while trading is currently at a record high in its London casinos, the group could not "consistently expect" the same level of profits to continue..." |
