Casino Dealers Suspected of Illegal Sports Betting

WASHINGTON -- As reported by the News Tribune: ``Two employees of Luciano's Casino & Waterfront Ristorante have been arrested as part of an investigation of illegal sports betting at the Tacoma card room.

``Luong Lam, 38, and Randy Lizama, 23, were booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree professional gambling. Lizama also was suspected of first-degree cheating. They appeared Monday in Pierce County Court.

``The investigation is continuing and additional employees might be punished, said Susan Arland, spokeswoman for the state Gambling Commission.

``Agents do not believe the casino organization or its owner, Dan Hilger, were involved in illegal activity, Arland said.

``…Luciano's has suspended Lam and Lizama, and they could be fired depending on the outcome of the case, Hilger said Monday.

```Luciano's management has a zero tolerance policy and practice regarding any illegal activity at our casino,' Hilger said. 'Such activity has not been and will not be tolerated.'…"
