Casino Cruises Not to Operate in Malaysian Waters16 May 2002MALAYSIA – As reported by the (Malaysian) News Straits Time Press: "Cruise ship operators have been warned not to operate onboard casinos while anchored in Johor waters. "Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said police had been directed to take legal action against owners found defying the warning. "He said the owners and those caught gambling at the casinos could be charged for illegal gambling. "…He said it was recently found that gamblers from Johor had used the jetties at Kukup and the Johor Port in Pasir Gudang to get to the cruise ships. "…We even found out that there are even government officers involved in this activity, he said…" |
