Casino America Opens First Poker Room In Florida

BILOXI, Miss -- Casino America has opened of Florida's first poker room at its harness track facility in Pompano Beach, Florida. Effective January 1, 1997, Florida law permits the operation of poker rooms at all licensed pari-mutuels subject to local county commission approval, which approval had been previously received.

The poker room at Pompano Park has 30 poker tables where customers have the opportunity to play low stakes poker beginning two hours before and ending two hours after live racing at the harness track. The facility is expected to be open six days a week.
