Canyon Ranch to Bring Spa Club to Venetian

LAS VEGAS -- Canyon Ranch, one of the world's elite health resorts, has joined with The Venetian, the world's largest all-suite hotel/resort, retail, casino and convention center complex.

Canyon Ranch has entered into agreement with The Venetian to premier its first SpaClub, a 63,000 square-foot health spa and fitness club, at the property when it opens its doors in April 1999.

The Canyon Ranch SpaClub will be part of the new $1.2 Billion Venice-themed mega-resort presently under construction at the site of the former Sands Hotel. Canyon Ranch's new concept will be nestled within a Venetian-style garden atop an 11-acre pool deck and is destined to become another "must experience" attraction of the famous Las Vegas Strip.

The exclusive, state-of-the-art facility will feature massage, skin care and body treatment rooms, gyms and weight rooms. It will also include a 40-foot rock climbing wall, movement therapy, Pilates studios, a spinning gym, therapeutic pools, a Cafe, a beauty salon and medical/wellness center and an indoor swimming pool for water aerobics classes and lap swimming.

The Canyon Ranch SpaClub will add another dimension to The Venetian complex. It will offer guests 3,036 hotel suites, 116,000 square feet of gaming floor, 500,000 square feet of retail space at The Grand Canal Shoppes, 500,000 square feet of meeting space at The Venetian Congress Center and a direct link to the 1.15 million square foot Sands Expo and Convention Center.

The Canyon Ranch SpaClub will join other celebrated partners in The Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes. The complex's indoor mall area features a one-quarter mile Venetian streetscape with intimate "piazza" style settings and a 630-foot "Grand Canal" running its length with a fleet of functional gondolas, singing gondoliers and waterside cafes. The Venetian has signed leases with numerous retailers and restaurateurs.
