Canadian Province Blocks Employee Access to Porn, Gambling Web sites5 September 2001NEW BRUNSWICK, Canada – September 5, 2001 – As reported by the CBC: ``The New Brunswick government, after monitoring Internet use by civil servants, has decided to block 39 web sites from its computers. ``The sites specialize in online gambling and hard-core pornography. ``The Department of Supply and Services monitored Internet use by employees during a week in December 1999. It determined that during the week employees made 1,600 visits to Internet gambling sites. On one day, there were 92 visits to nine sexually explicit sites…" |
