California Casino Suit Funds Approved

CALIFORNIA – As reported by the Sacramento Bee: "The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved the transfer of $200,000 in contingency funds to the county counsel's budget to continue litigation related to a proposed casino on the Shingle Springs Rancheria.

"…The staff report noted that the board initially budgeted $500,000 for the casino lawsuits for fiscal 2004-05. Because of unanticipated litigation and the retention of several expert consultants to develop evidence, costs have exceeded the budgeted amount, the report says…"
