Caesars Under Investigation5 April 2004NEW YORK – As reported by the New York Post: "The sweeping, potentially explosive, subpoena - which seeks to determine if any of New York's 212 lawmakers received sweetheart deals at any of Caesars' 29 gambling resorts - was issued last week in the wake of the commission's discovery two weeks earlier that Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (D-Manhattan) paid $109 a night for a suite at the Caesars-owned Paris Las Vegas that normally rents for $1,500. "The commission, which is seeking to determine if Caesars failed to make legally required disclosures of expenditures aimed at influencing state lawmakers, also issued a second subpoena for e-mails, telephone logs and other documents related to Silver's stay at the Paris Las Vegas in January 2002, The Post has learned.
