Burswood's Shareholder Cap Removal Downplayed

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the West Australian: "Analysts have played down speculation that the WA Government may soon lift Burswood Ltd's 10 per cent shareholding cap.

"Removal of the cap would almost certainly put the resort casino operator in play, with Publishing & Broadcasting Ltd, TAB, Jupiters, Tabcorp and Sky City touted as potential predators.

"…The cap is one of a number of issues Burswood is negotiating with the Government - others include tax rates and its exclusive gambling licence.

"Paterson Ord Minnett industrial analyst Robert Gee played down the likelihood of the cap being removed in the near term, pointing out that a more attractive operating environment would leave Burswood vulnerable to predators at a time when it was undervalued…"
