Boyd Plan Faces Setback26 April 2006LIMERICK, Pennsylvania – As reported by the Mercury: "On the eve of state hearings on an application to build a slots parlor in Limerick, the township supervisors made a surprise announcement that they will oppose Boyd Gaming's plans to build here. "The supervisors told The Mercury exclusively Tuesday they don't want the casino in Limerick under any circumstances. "…The supervisors, along with their consultant, Mike Pincus, spent the past several months gathering information from a variety of sources on the impact of a casino on the community. "To get an understanding of Boyd's track record in other communities, Pincus recently visited two of the company's facilities in Illinois and Indiana. Though Boyd was well received in those communities, they were not Limerick. "…The main reason Limerick doesn't want the casino comes down to traffic…" |
