Boyd Gaming Tops Forbes List

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) today announced that the Company was selected as Forbes Magazine's best managed company in America in the Hotels, Restaurants and Leisure category.

In order to be named best managed, companies must first make the Forbes Platinum list of the 400 Best Big Companies in America. The magazine then chooses one company from each of the 26 industries to receive this special designation, which is based on a company's five-year annualized total return. The list was published in the Forbes January 9, 2006 issue.

William S. Boyd, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Boyd Gaming, commented on the selection, "We have accomplished so much in the last five years, it is especially rewarding to be recognized by a leading worldwide business magazine such as Forbes."
