Boyd Gaming Elects Two Directors2 March 2005LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) today announced that Michael Gaughan and Thomas Girardi were elected to the Company's Board of Directors. Michael Gaughan, 61, is the Chief Executive Officer of Coast Casinos, a division of Boyd Gaming. He has operated casinos in Las Vegas since 1965, when he first became an owner of the El Cortez Hotel. He founded Coast Casinos in 1979 with the opening of the Barbary Coast Hotel and Casino, located on one of the most famous four corners of the Las Vegas Strip. Mr. Gaughan joined the Boyd Gaming executive team when Coast Casinos became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company in July 2004. Thomas Girardi, 65, one of the top lawyers in the United States, is a partner in the law office of Girardi and Keese. In his 40 years of practice, Mr. Girardi has tried over 100 jury cases to conclusion and has been recognized by several professional associations, including the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, Lawyers for Public Justice, and his alma mater, Loyola Law School at Loyola University.
