The 200,000 square-foot expansion includes a multitude of entertainment, dining and lifestyle amenities for visitors to Sam's Town and for the local Las Vegas community including: Sam's Town Live!, an 1,100-seat multi-use event center; Century Theatres Sam's Town, an 18-screen movie theatre complex; The Firelight Buffet, featuring an open-pit rotisserie; a childcare center; an arcade; an ice cream shop; and 43,000 square feet of new gaming space. The project also included a 1,200-space valet parking garage, allowing for faster service and greater convenience for Sam's Town visitors. Boyd Gaming's Sam's Town expansion project added approximately 350 new jobs. ``We are delighted with the completion of the expansion and renovation,'' said Sam's Town Senior Vice President and General Manager Joe Fuscaldo. ``A long time favorite on the Boulder Strip, Sam's Town is now bigger and better than ever with the region's best events center, a THX-sound megaplex movie theater, and the rotisserie buffet as well as an increase in the number of slot machines, positioning this property's slot floor as the largest in the Boulder Strip market. We accomplished exactly what we set out to build and came in on time and on budget.'' The expansion and casino remodel also marks a change in the look and feel of the entire property. ``Previously, Sam's Town was primarily country-western themed. We have completely redecorated all public areas with a Victorian look and feel, and the result is a brighter, crisper feeling which we like to describe as 'contemporary western,''' Fuscaldo added. |
